"Every year, many flights are cancelled or delayed due to technical problems and issues. It is the airline company’s responsibility if the flight cannot take off due to technical problems and therefore you may be entitled to financial compensation in these cases.
If the reason of your delay or cancellation is a technical problem, the airline is responsible for it and you are therefore entitled to compensation. Compensation can be received if the delay is not due to storms, terror or work strikes. Flight delays and cancellations due to technical problems entitle you to 100% of compensation.
Please note that you may be entitled to compensation if you arrive to your final destination with more than 3-hour delay. The amount to be claimed depends on whether it is a domestic or international flight and the distance between the starting and final destinations.
- You are entitled to compensation of 100 Euro for the domestic flights.
- You are entitled to compensation of 250 Euro for the international flights under 1,500 km.
- You are entitled to compensation of 400 Euro for the international flights between 1,500 and 3,500 km.
- You are entitled to compensation of 600 Euro for the international flights that are longer than 3,500 km."
Can I change my ticket or get it refunded?
"If your flight is cancelled due to technical problems, the airline company usually offers you a ticket to the next available departure. You can also choose to get your money back if the flight is cancelled or delayed for at least 5 hours.
If the flight is cancelled due to technical problems and you are not offered a new departure within a reasonable period of time, which will make you buy a new ticket, Flycancel can help you refund the price of the new ticket.
Already after 2 hours of delay, you will be entitled to food and drink as well as free accommodation if the delay lasts for several days. If these services are not offered to you and you have paid for your expenses that occurred due to delay, then send your receipts to Flycancel and we will help you to refund your expenses.
At Flycancel, we regularly experience that airline companies excuse their delays and cancellations with a reason of bad weather even though the real reason is a technical problem.
